Just northwest of Savannah and home to Georgia Southern University (GSU), Bulloch County encompasses the cities of Statesboro, Brooklet, Portal and Register.
With a population of nearly 85,000 and 27,000 students attending GSU, there is no shortage of to-do’s in Bulloch County. Where generations of agricultural professionals meet innovative business owners and large-scale corporations, Bulloch County has something for everyone.

Bulloch County ranks in the top 20% of Georgia’s fastest growing counties, and we can see why. Historic Statesboro is a charming and dynamic college town built around a shop-lined Main Street. And this Main Street doesn’t just offer a sparse variety of shops and restaurants. It seems a new eatery opens weekly and new shops like Emmie’s continue to bring new products to the local community.
With the impressive lineup of GSU athletics available at your fingertips, the area is perfect for sports lovers. There’s also Tormenta Football Club, a professional soccer team in Statesboro whose roster is filled with local, national and international players and which recently completed construction of a new state-of-the-art 5,300-seat soccer-specific stadium to seat their loyal fans.
The county is home to several large corporations including Brodie International, East Georgia Regional Medical Center, AJIN Georgia, Hanan Systems and SACK Company. With a lower-than-average cost of living and a variety of housing options, that makes Bulloch County an all-around great choice for individuals and families looking to start their career.
And for those who might want to go to (or back to) school, Georgia Southern University offers 141 degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level including Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Cyber Security, Information Systems and Technology, Multimedia Film Production and more.
What to do for those not interested in athletics? There’s plenty! From the downtown Farmers Market to concerts and art exhibitions, shopping, outdoor recreation, trails and museums, Bulloch County offers an urban feel with the opportunity to live on larger lots of land and in a quieter state of mind.
